McKayla loved her first week at school. Her best friend from last year is in her class. She loves PE and Music. She even ate in the cafeteria for the first time when they had pizza. She took her lunch the rest of the week. Ham sandwiches are her favorite.
She is also excited because Scott was able to take her all week and this week before he starts back to Red Man. She is riding the bus to the middle school in the afternoons. The first day was horrible. We couldn't find her. My principal was radioing all over the place for her but we finally found her. She made a new friend on the bus. It was so funny b/c the little girl's mom works w/ me and she and have have become good friends. In fact red Man is having a welcome back Scott party next week and I am hosting it here but I have invited our new friends so we are excited.
This is one of the best years I have ever had. I love my classes and the 3 aides who work w/ me. I think it will be a wonderful year. Plus Scott will be the boss down at red man and I think he will be very happy too!!! Our ducks are finally in a row for some exciting things to happen I think!!!
My camera won't work righ tnow so as soon as it does I will post pics!!

Another Head Injury
I guess this has really not been the girls week for head injury. Today when we got home from church Randi fell and hit the back of her head on the fireplace. It sliced it open and bled. We stopped the bleeding pretty quickly. We looked at the paper work from Mckayla's ER trip and she didn't have any sypmtoms of head trauma and the cut isn't really deep so we decided not to go. I really hated to go back twice in one week. Guess we will watch her for now.

ER Visit
Well we were on a roll and made it almost a month w/out any dr visits or anything until today. The girls were running through the house (even after we had told them several times to settle down) and mckayla fell and hit the corner by the den. It is wood and very sharp. Well we heard the thud and knew she was hurt. She got up crying and had a huge goose egg in the middle of her forehead. Scott really thought it was about to split so we got ice on it and I started rounding up shoes for the ER visit. it kept getting bigger but finally went down some. We decided to still go the the ER since it was her head. I called my mom to come get pandi b/c I knew she would be lots of fun up there. mom met us in the parking lot.
They were ver y sweet to us at the ER. It only took about 45 min. They examined her and since she didn't pass out or vomit we will just watch her for a couple of days but she should be fine. I think she will skip gymnastics tonight. I am still having a get together tonight despite today's exciting activity. here is the aftermath pic. it looks much better and has been a couple of hrs.
And the moral of the story is NO RUNNING IN THE HOUSE!!!!!Wednesday, August 6, 2008
we look like pappy
Tonight the girls and I were in the front yard riding their bikes. They like to get tools from the garage and work on their bikes like daddy does. They found a box of hats and came to the front porch and said "we look like pappy." Pappy is Scott's dad. I thought it was sweet. here is the pic
Sleeping and Sewer
Well both girls are finally sleeping in their own beds all night long. it is so nice. We told them that they had to take their sleeping bags to mimi's this weekend and sleep on the floor. They seem excited about this but then this morning McKalya said she thought she better sleep with mimi. I just back off b/c she only wants her mimi when we go to odessa and there is no changing her mind about anything.
I hope we still get to go. We are getting a new sewer tomorrow and if he doesn't show then Scott and I will have to do it ourselves. Thank goodness my mom is here to keep the girls. They tend to freak out when the water is turned off.

Babies
I have been cleaning out closets and toy boxes all morning. Every now and then I come across something special of the girls to pack away for them. It might be a toy or a piece of clothing. Today I ran across randi's first borger bulldog shirt. In borger when you have a baby they give you the cutest little bulldogs shirts. Both girls have one. Randi wanted to wear it but of course it was way to small.
Some days when I look at those things I get baby fever but as most of you know no more babies for us. The baby house as my girls refer to it was taken out a couple of months ago. I miss holding the girls and rocking them the most. My friend Susan's sister just had a baby. Susan is in the same boat as me, no more babies. But now she gets to go hold the new baby whenever. Maybe someday my brother will marry and have kids or maybe my sister in law Stacy could have another!!!! :)
I do enjoy my girls getting bigger because we have so much fun most of the time. I love watching them do gymnastics and can't wait for both of them to do competition this year. I love watching them play house and school together, and listening to them whisper to each other in bed when we go camping . it is all so sweet!!!!

Camping and The Land of Oz
We went to lake fryer for our last trip before I go back to work. It was so hot there. The lake water was very nasty and smelled like a sewer so I didn't let the girls swim but they were able to fish and caught several perch! here is a pic of Scott and the girls fishing!
We had a nice time just sitting around enjoying being outdoors!!!!
We also went to liberal to the land of oz. "dorothy" was our guide and made it very real for the girls. mckayla loved it. randi didn't seem very thrilled and refused to get her pic taken w/ anything. They also had munchin land. Randi did take a pic here but didnt look at the camera.
It was a quick trip but we enjoyed it. We will be off to Odessa this next weekend and then back to work on the 11th. I can't believe summer is over. I guess I need to go unload the camper and do laundry. I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!
